For the latest installment of Town Focus, I’ll spend the week getting to know Mattituck.

Located in the middle of the North Fork wine country, Mattituck has sprawling vistas of open land, the Peconic Bay and Long Island Sound. The community has a fire department with an active auxiliary, the largest school on the North Fork and a lively commercial strip on Love Lane.

This week, I’ll focus on all those things and more, including how some of the local churches participate in the community.

I’ll be walking around town, taking photos and talking to residents (and also eating lunch and drinking coffee at all of their favorite spots). If you’re in town, stop me to say hello. If you’re following on Twitter, let me know what you’d like to learn about Mattituck.

As always, I welcome suggestions in the comments below, by email and on Twitter.
