Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos will be a guest speaker at a business and trade show for “Differently-Abled” individuals today at the Molloy College Sustainability Institute’s Suffolk Center in Farmingdale (7180 Republic Airport).

“Giving individuals the opportunity to find employment that is tailored to their skill set is outstanding, especially at a time when our economy is recovering and businesses need extra help,” Maragos said in a statement. “It is important that innovative ideas such as this be supported by all of us in the community.”

The show is hosted by Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc., a nonprofit agency based in Old Bethpage that supports more than 3,500 individuals with disabilities.

Like other similar agencies, it offers clients an opportunity to work and train in actual business settings in retail, catering, landscaping, maintenance, printing, art, and horticulture among many industries. These ventures provided by nonprofit agencies can help fulfill business needs with a variety of services.

Other speakers include John Tsunis, chairman of the board of Gold Coast Bank and chief executive of Long Island Hotels LLC. Bob Wolf, the founder of HOPE, will be the keynote speaker.
