Still alive after one round of mixed doubles play is Scott Lipsky, the former New York State high school champion at Bellmore JFK. Lipsky, now 31 and living in Southern California, is teaming with 31-year-old California native Abigail Spears. In 2011, Lipsky, with partner Casey Dellacqua, won the French Open mixed doubles title. Lipsky and his doubles partner, Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico, won their second-round men's doubles match yesterday.
