After a soggy few days, Long Island dries out Wednesday with plenty of sun forecast to continue through at least early next week.

The high Wednesday should top out about 81 degrees with west winds of between 9 and 14 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Clear conditions continue Wednesday evening when the temperature will dip to about 60.

Thursday brings more sun with highs in the mid-70s. By evening, it will be clear again with a low of 54.

It will be nearly a repeat performance for the start of the weekend with daytime highs in the mid-70s and evening temperatures in the high 50s to low 60s, the weather service said.

On Sunday, the high should rise to about 80 degrees. Similar temperatures are forecast for Monday as well, with Tuesday's high nearing 87, according to the weather service.
