A radar map of Long Island and the surrounding region on Monday.

Tuesday may be bringing a brief disruption to Long Island’s delightful, dry weather, but we get a quick return to great beach-going conditions for the rest of the week, forecasters say.

Look for “one bump in the road,” that’s just a few showers Tuesday, perhaps a thunderstorm and gust of wind, but it all “should pass through pretty quickly,” said Rich Von Ohlen, News 12 meteorologist.

We will be seeing a pickup in humidity, the National Weather Service said, with “the best chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms Tuesday morning,” as a warm front moves through.

Temperatures in the upper 70s are expected.

After that, the rest of the work week should be shaping up with spot-on conditions for beach going and barbecuing, Von Ohlen said. Highs in the mid, even upper, 80s are in the forecast.
