Long Island weather: Wednesday brings sunshine, highs in 70s
A string of sunny and mostly sunny days looks to be ending with Wednesday, as a few more clouds will be starting to enter the picture, forecasters say.
Still, temperatures will continue to be above normal, with 67 degrees the normal high for this time at Long Island MacArthur Airport.
After patchy morning fog, skies were giving way to sunshine later Wednesday on Long Island with temperatures expected to head up to the low 70s, forecasters said.
“We’re looking at some decent weather out there,” News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said.
Thursday should be partly sunny, but showers could move in Friday morning, the National Weather Service said.
Daytime high temperatures for the rest of the workweek should be in the mid- to upper 70s, and nighttime lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s, the weather service said.
The weekend is a mixed bag: partly sunny Saturday but mostly cloudy Sunday with a chance of showers. The high temperature both days will be in the low to mid-70s, the weather service said.
Monday, the Columbus Day holiday, will be cloudy with a chance of showers, the weather service said.
