Sunny and warm weather will likely prevail through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will range from the high 70s on the East End to the mid 80s on the North Shore of Suffolk and Nassau counties, said meteorologist John Murray of the service's Upton office.

Few clouds are expected Saturday, but the sky could grow slightly cloudier Sunday, he said.

There is a moderate risk of ocean rip currents Saturday as winds are expected to pick up to 10 to 15 mph along the South Shore in the afternoon, Murray said.

The risk is highest at ocean beaches in Nassau and western Suffolk, as well as in Brooklyn and Queens, he said.
