Much-needed clearing skies Sunday will give way to a pleasant, springlike Monday, forecasters said.

After an overnight low Sunday in the low 40s, the sun is expected to appear Monday, mixed with some clouds and high temperatures around 60, according to Jay Engle, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Upton. But Monday night could bring showers and a thunderstorm before 2 a.m. The chance of precipitation is 60%. The lows will be in the mid-40s.

The overnight rain could continue into the Tuesday morning commute. The high will be in the low 60s, with winds gusting up to 25 mph.

Wednesday's forecast calls for "lots of sun," Engle said, and more of the same Thursday and Friday. Highs are forecast to be in the low 50s on Wednesday with a low of 38 that night, climbing to the high 50s by Friday.
