Sunday showers start a mixed weather week
A cold front will push through on Sunday, bringing with it light showers that will spread across Long Island through the day, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunday's highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s, with rain expected in the morning in Nassau County, and a little later in Suffolk, said Brian Ciemnecki, meteorologist with the service's Upton bureau.
Monday will be dry, with highs in the low 80s and lows in the upper 50s to low 60s. But there may be a trace of rain overnight and into Tuesday, which will bring another chance of showers, mostly along the South Shore of Nassau County, Ciemnecki said.
Highs on Tuesday will be in the upper 70s, with lows in the low to mid 60s.
Wednesday will dry out again, with highs in the mid- to upper 70s and lows in the mid-60s.
But the chance of showers returns on Thursday, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80s, and lows in the mid-60s.
The possibility of showers lingers into Friday, with highs that day in the upper 70s, Ciemnecki said.
