Women's lacrosse U-19 team update
(TV news anchor voice) This just in... they're good.
The women’s U-19 team is dominating pool play in the FIL World Championships in Germany. The team improved to 3-0 with a 15-3 win over Haudenosaunee on Saturday. The United States is in search of a fourth straight U-19 world title.
Nine players scored for Team USA, led by Mikaela Rix (Garden City/Boston College) with three. Three players added two goals each, including Cortney Fortunato (Northport). Kelly McPartland (Farmingdale/Maryland) also scored and Team USA led 13-1 at halftime.
The United States had defeated Japan, 19-6, on Thursday and Canada, 13-6, yesterday. They’ll take on England at 3 p.m. (local time) Sunday.
