Kate Murray gets a new job
A least one of the big questions about a Nassau County public official has been answered.
No need to wonder which public payroll will support Kate Murray, who last month lost her bid to be district attorney. The arm was put around the Nassau Community College board of trustees to take her.
Murray, who abandoned a safe run for re-election as Hempstead supervisor to seek the countywide office, replaces Chuck Cutolo, who retires as general counsel and head of government affairs. Her new salary is $150,000, pretty close to what town taxpayers were paying her.
Lesson here: The Nassau GOP takes care of its own, and it clearly still owns the college's trustees.
