I had just returned from two lovely weeks of hearing, "Y'all have a good day" and "Y'all come back soon" during a Southern vacation. I stopped at the grocery store to pick up dinner, and went through the check-out line.

My six-pack of Pellegrino traveled down the conveyor belt and gently nudged the four items a woman was packing ahead of me. She immediately yelled, "You can't do that, Ma'am . . . How will I know which groceries are mine?"

Luckily, I was too tired to respond in kind. Gee, it's great to be back in New York, y'all.
