Letter: Missing the point on low incomes
Regarding "Time to go after the real tax evaders out there" [Opinion, Oct. 10], Daniel Akst's liberal ideology and agenda come out even clearer, as his column once again misses an important point about people who do not pay federal taxes. If the argument is that a family of four makes $26,400, we have a much bigger problem than taxes. With minimum wage being over $7 an hour, how is it that there is only $26,400 coming in?
Maybe one day Akst can write an article on personal responsibility rather than being an anti-conservative.
Taxpayers are tired of the excuses that liberals throw out for lack of education, work ethic or any other fixable reason that causes a family of four to generate so little money.
