If ever a treasure were to be saved, now is the time and Old Brookville is the place [“Don’t force rare Nassau farm to close,” Letters, Sept. 13]. The Rottkamp Brothers Farm is held in high regard by hundreds of North Shore families that feast on its homegrown provender.

Not only are the local vegetables and fruits of the best quality, they are offered in a setting of good humor and tranquillity that you can’t duplicate in a supermarket.

I realize that the legal dispute involving the farm, a neighbor and the village seems important to the participants. But if the neighbor would cross the road and sample the treats the Rottkamps offer, maybe the two families could come to an agreement and allow the North Shore to continue enjoying the best corn, tomatoes, zucchini, beets, carrots, etc.
