I guess an argument could be made that it is a good thing that municipalities are benefiting from the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes.

However, has anyone consulted with local schools to see whether they have noticed an uptick in students using or possessing marijuana in any form in schools?

Until recently, marijuana was only available as a smokable “weed.” Now it comes in vapes and all sorts of edibles that make detection challenging. Children may also intentionally or accidentally ingest some of the marijuana edibles that look very much like candy.

This horse is already out of the barn, but before we celebrate the “benefit” to our governmental agencies, it might be a good idea to look at unintended consequences.
