Health/Education ReporterI’m a storyteller at heart with a passion for local news. I’ve spent nearly 30 years sharing stories about Long Islanders with Long Islanders. I work here but I also live here with my husband and our two sons who are in college. What matters to you also matters to us.
It is truly a privilege to meet so many people willing to share their lives with me when they’re at their best and sadly sometimes … their worst. I always try to remember that it’s not just a story. That’s what I focus on when researching and reporting. WHY does this matter. WHO does it matter to? WHAT, if anything, can I do about it?
What makes a great story? Interesting people, awesome video and creativity! When reporters are lucky enough to get all of that… it’s magic!
I’m a people person so I really love stories that are centered around someone. I’ve spent many years covering health and some of those have been really tough subjects, but I learn something from each and every one of them.
A little bit about myself … I spent my early years in Flushing, Queens, but moved to Long Island with my family the summer before third grade. In high school, I wrote for the newspaper and literary magazine. In college, I took classes on feature writing, magazine writing and ghost writing. I also had an internship at a local television station in Binghamton. It sounds corny, but after following a reporter around the first day I realized what I wanted to do. I really like the combination of great visuals with important information as a way to engage a viewer.
I graduated from SUNY Binghamton and got my master's degree in Communication Arts from the New York Institute of Technology while working at LI News Tonight. I worked at WFSB in Hartford, Connecticut, and then I spent 27 years covering everything and anything at News 12 Long Island before joining Newsday TV in February 2022.
I’m thrilled to be a part of the incredible team here at Newsday TV/Newsday where the video/print/digital news departments all work to complement each other. No place does that better from what I’ve seen.

I love hearing from fellow Long Islanders so please follow me on FB, Instagram and Twitter and message me if you have any story suggestions.
