Wainscoting and wallpaper distinguish one room from the next throughout a white-brick home on Asharoken Avenue.

The four-bed, three-bath house on Asharoken's waterfront is on the market for $2.2 million. Taxes on the 0.64-acre property, which falls within the Northport-East Northport Union Free School District, total $24,857.

"I'm in and out of houses all day, and every home has energy and this one really has just a warm and loving one," said Lucky to Live Here Realty agent Sari Eidelkind, who has co-listed the property with Joyce Mennella and Elena D'Agostino. "We're just waiting for that right buyer to come along that sees the value that's here and gets excited about their next chapter on Asharoken."

In one of three bathrooms, the walls wear navy blue with white sailboat sketches; in a bedroom, patterned walls wear white with coastal-toned beach houses.

Behind the 2,742-square-foot house, landscaped gardens line a stone path to 75 feet of private beachfront on Long Island Sound, Eidelkind said.

"This homeowner was just so in love with nature, and bringing these gardens to her forefront of her daily living," she said.

Eidelkind described the home as "well-cared-for" and "meticulously maintained," referencing an updated kitchen and whole-house generator. Updates made over the past several years also include a new roof and Hardiplank siding.

"Within the last five years, a big chunk of the major utilities of the home have been updated," she said. "This is something that you really can move right into."

On the first floor, an enclosed porch leads out to the back patio. On the second floor, sliding doors in the family room lead out to a mahogany deck with a view of the water.

"You really could move right in, and enjoy it as-is or, choose to take it to a different caliber depending on what you're looking for. But it really is just so, it's such a sweet home."
