Center Moriches 'Berries' house for sale has pool, Jacuzzi

A house in a fruit-themed neighborhood in Center Moriches is on the market for $975,000. The taxes are $16,192.

The 4,650-square-foot home is located on Bittersweet Lane. The property is not in a private community, but the neighbors are connected by their street names, said listing agent Tommy Panebianco, of Realty Connect USA.

"This particular development is nicknamed 'The Berries,' " he said. "There's a Facebook group about it. This neighborhood has about 120 homes, and it's nicknamed that because the streets are named after berries."

Some streets off of Bittersweet Lane include Inkberry, Blackberry and Barberry Lanes.

"It's a pretty sought-after neighborhood for Center Moriches," Panebianco added.

The house features five bedrooms and five bathrooms, sitting on a 0.69-acre lot. It was built in 2006.

"It has a great, wide open-floor plan," Panebianco said.

Other notable features include an in-ground, L-shaped pool, Jacuzzi and deck in the backyard, a full, finished basement and a bedroom on the main floor. The kitchen was remodeled in 2017. The property is in the East Moriches Union Free School District.

When it comes to homes for sale in this area, "there is not a lot of turnover," said Panebianco. "A lot of the homes in this neighborhood are either the first or maybe second owner. It's very quaint; people just don't want to leave."
