A speakeasy-style wine room with dark-wood cabinets and flooring offers bottle storage in the form of two lit, translucent, columnar cases. Folding glass doors lead out to a deck with two televisions, a linear fireplace and an outdoor kitchen.

The five-bed, 4½ -bath, custom-built Colonial on 1 acre in Dix Hills is on the market for $2.885 million. Annual taxes on the Yardley Drive property, which falls within the Half Hollow Hills Central School District, total $25,212.

"We like to entertain," said homeowner Chris Maloy, Sr., who built the 4,500-square-foot home with his wife Angela last year.

Outdoor amenities also include a smoker, pizza oven, barbecue, jacuzzi and a stove, added listing agent Annette Alicanti, of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

"They loaded the house," Alicanti said. "When you're in the speakeasy, you could walk outside, smoke a cigar and hop into the hot tub."

Warmed by natural gas and radiant heat, the house is cooled by central air conditioning. Inside and outside, a Sonos sound system operates in several zones. There is also an attached two-car garage.

Steven Dubner Landscaping, Inc., a commercial and residential landscaping company that has worked on New York City's Highline and World Trade Center, did the landscaping and planting on the Dix Hills residence, Chris Maloy, Sr., said. Dubner's offices and showroom are in Dix Hills.

Among details the pair incorporated are a porch off the primary bedroom and a 10-foot kitchen island with three-inch-thick countertop. The couple had a say even in such minutiae as the placement of each electrical outlet.

"Our friends are builders and plumbers and everything," Maloy, Sr., said. "We designed literally the whole house."
