A Head of the Harbor estate filled with features added by the seller over the years, such as a movie theater room, is on the market for $3.498 million.

Located on Armand Court, the main house includes five bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half-bathrooms, coming to a total of 7,000 square feet. The annual property taxes are $49,015. The house sits on a 2.4-acre lot.

A sense of luxury is apparent from the moment you arrive at the property: "As you go up these very impressive bluestone steps with a railway, there's double doors as you enter. It feels like a hotel, really," said listing agent Bonnie Glenn, of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty.

The main floor features 30-foot ceilings. There is a music room with a bar, featuring a beer tap. A family room on the same floor contains a built-in gas fireplace and pool table.

White granite countertops and splashes of red accentuate the kitchen, which is a standout feature of the estate. "It's like two kitchens put together," Glenn said.

It includes a coffee bar, two deep fryers, a large grill, a special exhaust system and two ovens, Glenn added.

The basement has a gym, sauna and theater room. The current homeowner — Henry Shaw, who moved there in 2001 — said it took about two months to set up the theater.

"There are eight seats, and they all recline," he said, adding with a laugh: "We've never seen a whole movie — once you recline, you fall asleep automatically."

Other highlights include a three-car garage, an elevator with access to all floors, a climate-controlled wine room and a rooftop deck. The backyard boasts a key-shaped, 20-by-60-foot pool with a pool house, a fire pit, a built-in barbecue and surround sound speakers.

Over the years, Shaw and his wife put plenty of work into their home to make it an entertaining and inviting space. They threw concerts in the backyard, birthday parties in the kitchen and even hosted their daughter's wedding there.

"I just want somebody to enjoy this house the way we enjoyed this house," he said.

The property is served by the Smithtown Central School District (Smithtown High School East).
