The four-bed, 2½-bath Hempstead home is on the market for $949,000. Annual taxes on the 0.49-acre property, which falls within the Hempstead Union Free School District, total $20,993. An offer has been accepted.
"It’s all about the property," said listing agent Mary Beth Darcy, of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty.
The backyard, which includes a brick patio, offers a secluded space, Darcy said.
"It is so private, in that yard," she said. "You can’t see any neighbors, on any side."

Inside, the home has wide-plank wood floors with visible knots and two staircases. A narrow set of stairs runs from the kitchen to one of the bedrooms, Darcy said.
"The character in the house is incredible," she said.
