A newly renovated beach house in Point Lookout is on the market for $2.5 million. Taxes are $15,476.

Built in 1935, the house underwent a renovation that started in 2022 and was completed last year, said listing agent Martin Sorrentino, of Signature Premier Properties. He is co-listing the property with Lynn Karp.

Some of the updates include new electric, plumbing, insulation and a revamped second floor, Sorrentino added.

"Point Lookout has a lot of 30-by-60 lots," he said. "But in this case, we've got 92 feet in the front, and the placement of the house offers a wonderful side yard, with a heated in-ground pool and extensive pavers."

Located on Inwood Avenue, the house features four bedrooms and three bathrooms, totaling 1,744 square feet. Part of the side yard is covered and leads to a cabana, which includes a half-bathroom, refrigerator, heating and cooling systems and additional living space for guests.

"For entertaining, it's ideal," said Sorrentino. "If you want to have somebody stay over in the cabana, they can sleep over."

There is also an outdoor shower, which can be used after walking less than a quarter-mile to Point Lookout Beach. There are seven parking spots on site, and the house contains a finished basement — two rarities in the area, Sorrentino added.

The house, which is in the Long Beach Public School District, is also close to the restaurants and small businesses on Lido Boulevard.

"Point Lookout is one of Long Island's best-kept secrets," Sorrentino said.
