A historical home in Sea Cliff recently dropped in price and is on the market for $1.025 million. The annual property taxes are $24,228.

Built in 1908, the Victorian has a grand presence on Bay Avenue. With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, the home comes to a total of 2,094 square feet, on a 0.11-acre property. The house features dual wraparound porches overlooking Hempstead Bay.

"There’s a reason why Victorians with water views don't go on market very often," said listing agent Molly Deegan, owner and broker of Branch Real Estate Group. "Because people never want to leave."

This is the first time in a quarter century that this property is for sale, Deegan said, and it will be the fourth time that the house changes ownership. Inside, there are original stained glass windows and wooden door paneling.

"There is wainscoting that was salvaged from Gold Coast estates, and crafted into the interior of the home," Deegan added.

Other highlights include a wall of closets in the primary bedroom and a finished basement. The house is situated on a flat piece of land, although most of Bay Avenue is hilly, Deegan noted.

"Bay Avenue, just in general, is really among the most sought-after and scenic streets with water views in Sea Cliff," she said. "And it’s admired by many people."

Sea Cliff is known for being tight-knit: The village is 1 square mile, with a history dating to 1871.

"One thing I would say with any home in Sea Cliff: You’re not just buying a home, you’re buying a lifestyle," Deegan said.

The property is served by the North Shore Central School District.
