A home built around 1794 in Stony Brook is on the market for $1.5 million. The taxes are $17,347, and the property is in the Three Village Central School District.
The center hall Colonial was first owned by Jedidiah Williamson, a millwright and father of John M. Williamson, who once served as the supervisor for the Town of Brookhaven, building records show. The main house contains three bedrooms and 2½ bathrooms, totaling 2,063 square feet.
As for its recent history, the house, located on North Country Road, has belonged to one family for decades.
"The sellers have lived there for 30 years, and it's been in the same family since 1951," said listing agent Carol Russell, of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty.
The property spans 3 acres, and is surrounded by 12 acres of preserved land owned by the state, Russell said. There are several additional structures on site: A one-car garage, a shed once used as a chicken coop, an outhouse and a building that served as a "playhouse," Russell added.

Most notably, there is a 3,300-square-foot barn on the property, with two horse stalls.
"It's a huge two-story barn, with great potential," Russell added.
Some original features in the main house include the woodwork, moldings and hardware.
"The floorboards in the house, on the first floor at least, are all one piece," she said. "Which is quite amazing because some of the rooms are like 16 feet long."
There is also a partial basement that can be accessed through a trap door in the half bathroom, Russell added. Other highlights include a full attic with a walk-in cedar closet and an outdoor pond with fish and a waterfall.
"The landscaping is pretty special," said Russell. "This time of year, it doesn't look it, but in the spring it's pretty spectacular there."
