Victor LaBozetta III, Suffolk Scholar Artist for March
Victor LaBozetta III of Newfield High School is a drummer and percussionist with the school’s Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra and Jazz Choir.
Studying music since the age of four, Victor plays drums, French horn, piano and sings. Also an accomplished composer, Victor has had numerous works featured in the NYSSMA Young Composers and Electronic Music Showcases. Recently, his piece, Time Travel, was premiered by the United States Army Band’s Brass Quintet at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
Victor has performed in the Suffolk All-County Symphonic Orchestra and Concert Band, All-State Instrumental Jazz Ensemble, and All-Eastern and All-National Honors Bands. He has studied at The Julliard School, the Eastman School of Music, and the New York State Summer School of the Arts. He is the co-author of the recently published, “A Practical Approach to Understanding Time Signatures.”
Victor is the President of Newfield’s Tri-M Music Honor Society and plans to study percussion performance at the conservatory level next year.
