CC Sabathia looks to carry Yankees past O's
BALTIMORE — CC Sabathia said he doesn’t feel any added pressure for Saturday night’s start.
But make no mistake; he believes that pulling the Yankees out of their malaise starts with him.
“Always,’’ he said. “Whether I have to go out and throw a shutout or I have to go out and give up a couple of runs and we still win, it’s my job to win that game.’’
In his three starts since coming off the disabled list, he has allowed six earned runs in 21 1/3 innings. But he wasn’t able to hold leads over the Blue Jays and Rays, which frustrated him.
“We’ve been going through this tough time. Not holding the lead has been the biggest thing that’s been bothering me,’’ he said. “I look to go and make pitches, and if I get the lead, not give it up.’’
