Two New York sluggers highlight Team USA's provisional roster for the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Mark Teixeira and David Wright were part of a roster that was unveiled Thursday morning and former Met R.A. Dickey is one of four starting pitchers on the squad.
Rosters from other countries are set to be unveiled at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Though the provisional roster is complete, the situation is still somewhat in flux. The final roster of 28 players isn't due until Feb. 20. Competition begins March 2, and the USA opens its schedule against Mexico on March 8 at Chase Field in Arizona. Team USA's first round bracket also includes Italy and Canada.
The U.S. is attempting to reach the finals for the first time in three tries. Team USA lost in the second round in 2006 and in the semifinals in 2009 to Japan.
