Ex-Mets manager Davey Johnson has COVID; released from hospital
Davey Johnson, 77, the manager of the world champion 1986 Mets, is resting at home after spending time in a Florida hospital with COVID-19, according to former Mets spokesman Jay Horwitz.
Horwitz said on Twitter that he spoke with Johnson and Johnson’s wife on Friday. The Mets posted Horwitz’s tweets on their official Twitter account.
"Good news," Horwitz posted. "Just spoke to Davey’s wife. He is home and resting comfortably. Got his treatment at hospital and now taking it easy. Keep the good thoughts coming."
Johnson, a four-time All-Star second baseman, managed the Mets from 1984-90.
