Manager Terry Collins sees meaningful games for Mets in September

Come September, Mets manager Terry Collins believes his club will be playing meaningful games.
"It's exciting now because I think September is going to mean something," Collins said before the Mets' 7-1 loss to the Nationals. "We're going to go into September and I don't know where we're going to be in the standings, but I think it's going to have meaning."
After the loss, the Mets (57-63) fell six games back for the second wild card.
General manager Sandy Alderson, when asked about what Collins said, called Collins' comments "legitimate."
More rehab for Dice-K
Daisuke Matsuzaka will make one or two rehab starts with Class-A Brooklyn before rejoining the Mets, Collins said.
Matsuzaka (right elbow inflammation) reported no issues Tuesday after he threw three innings in his rehab start for St. Lucie Monday night. His next scheduled start is Saturday.
"After the game yesterday, the elbow felt fine," Matsuzaka said. "No tightness or no pain so I think I feel pretty good right now."
Tipping his pitches?
Collins said reliever Carlos Torres, who has allowed a home run in four straight appearances, might be tipping his pitches. "He's getting hit way too hard," Collins said.make sure he's lengthened out."
