Mets face Nats' Atilano again
The Mets have a recent -- but brief -- history against tonight's starter for the Washington Nationals, Luis Atilano.
Atilano, who is 3-0 with a 3.90 ERA in five starts this season, beat the Mets 3-2 on May 17. Atilano pitched 5.1 scoreless innings, allowing just five hits with five strikeouts.
But Atilano does have a 1.55 WHIP this season. He's given up 27 hits in 27.2 innings and has more walks than striekouts (16-14).
Those stats should have Mets fans optimistic tonight. No better time for a win than tonight with the Yankees and Phillies next up for the Mets.
