Mets shift Saturday home games to afternoon start times following fan feedback
Meeting the Mets on a Saturday afternoon will be possible in 2024.
The Mets are shifting Saturday home games at Citi Field from evening start times to the afternoon in response to fan feedback, the club announced Wednesday in a news release.
“This game time change was driven by the results from a Mets fan survey that indicated nearly 90 percent of respondents favored earlier game times on Saturdays in order to bring kids, family and large groups to games,” the club said in its release.
Instead of a first pitch just after 7 p.m., as had been the case in recent seasons, Saturday games between March 28 and May 25 will have a 1:40 p.m. start time. Between June 1 and Sept. 21, Saturday games are scheduled for 4:10 p.m..
