Severity of David Wright's rotator cuff injury still not known

The Mets expect to have a clearer picture Monday regarding the immediate future of injured third baseman David Wright.
"[Monday] will have a lot to say," manager Terry Collins said Sunday. "If he's not significantly better due to the rest the last couple of days, then I think probably we need to talk about the possibility of maybe putting him on the [disabled list]."
Doctors are scheduled to examine the bruised rotator cuff in Wright's left shoulder in New York before he's slated to fly to Atlanta. Though a stint on the DL remains possible, Collins believes Wright likely will miss only a few days.
"With what they said yesterday, I don't think [the DL is] going to happen," Collins said. "But he could walk in tomorrow and still have discomfort and [they'll] say, 'Look, you're going to have to rest it longer,' so that may lean it in a different direction."
Rusty Lagares
In four games since returning from the DL on Thursday, centerfielder Juan Lagares is 3-for-13 with five strikeouts. He was 1-for-4 with a single and a strikeout in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Pirates.
Collins believes the struggles might be a product of Lagares' relative lack of at-bats during his minor-league rehab. Before returning from an intercostal strain, Lagares logged 17 plate appearances in four games in Double-A Binghamton and the rookie-level Gulf Coast League.
"You look up, he's got 20 at-bats, and sometimes that's not enough up here," Collins said.
Extra bases
The Pirates drew 150,819, setting the PNC Park record for a four-game series. The ballpark opened in 2001 . . . Backup catcher Anthony Recker was available Sunday after being struck on the right hand by a foul ball the day before. X-rays came back negative for a fracture.
