Wandy Rodriguez (8-12), set to start Monday, pitched the last two innings for the win. It took 6 hours, 7 minutes to finish. Both teams scored a run in the 17th, and each used eight pitchers.

Reds 5, Cubs 4: Xavier Paul led off the ninth with a pinch-hit triple and Ryan Hanigan followed with a single as host Cincinnati overcame three more errors to take three of four from Chicago. The Reds had 10 errors in a 5-2 homestand. "Is there stink on the field?" wondered Reds manager Dusty Baker. "It was an ugly win, but a win's a win. We've got to tighten up the defense."

Padres 7, Giants 1: Clayton Richard pitched eight sparkling innings and Cameron Maybin drove in three runs for host San Diego. The Giants dropped out of first in the NL West and trail the Dodgers by a half-game heading into their three-game series in Los Angeles.

Dodgers 5, Braves 0: Chad Billingsley (10-9) combined with two relievers for a three-hitter. Mark Ellis drove in four runs.

Phillies 8, Brewers 0: Kyle Kendrick (6-9) pitched three-hit ball for eight innings for visiting Philadelphia. Domonic Brown drove in four runs.

Diamondbacks 8, Astros 1: Host Houston lost in its first game under interim manager Tony DeFrancesco. Aaron Hill homered twice for Arizona.

Rockies 3, Marlins 2: Jordan Pacheco homered for the Rockies in Denver. Josh Johnson (7-10) lost his third straight.

Orioles 7, Tigers 5: Nate McLouth hit a go-ahead, two-run triple in the fourth inning for visiting Baltimore.

Rays 8, Angels 3: Matt Moore (10-7) shrugged off home runs by Mike Trout and Albert Pujols to win his fourth straight as Tampa Bay completed a four-game sweep in Anaheim.

Royals 5, White Sox 2: Salvador Perez drove in three runs as host Kansas City completed a three-game sweep.

Mariners 5, Twins 1: Michael Saunders homered, helping Blake Beavan (8-7) and host Seattle to their fifth straight victory.

Rangers 11, Blue Jays 2: Michael Young hit a three-run homer and a two-run double to power visiting Texas. Matt Harrison improved to 14-7.

Athletics 7, Indians 0: Jarrod Parker (8-7) pitched eight sharp innings and Coco Crisp homered and drove in five runs for host Oakland. -- AP
