Report: Carlos Lee wouldn't waive no-trade clause for Yankees

UPDATE 6:34: Buster Olney tweets that the Marlins raised the idea, "but before they advanced it, Lee said he wouldn't accept deal. Was never close to finished."
Is this just a case of the Yankees trying to add serious depth? Or are they more concerned about Mark Teixeira than they're letting on?
Jayston Stark reported that the Marlins thought they had traded Carlos Lee to the Yankees on Tuesday, but Lee wouldn't waive his no-trade clause. Stark tweeted that he heard the information from two different clubs.
Miami acquired Lee on July 4 from Houston--with Lee waving his no-trade clause for the deal. But the Marlins have sunk firmly out of contention since then and have reportedly been looking to move him.
A free agent at the end of the season, Lee is hitting .284 with six home runs and has a .348 on-base percentage. He's played first base exclusively this season, but spent time at left field in 2011.
Marc Carig tweeted that two Yankees scouts were watching Lee on Monday.
Nick Swisher is playing first base for the Yankees on Tuesday as Mark Teixeira recovers from a wrist injury that's supposed to keep him out a few days. Teixeira tweeted from his verified account earlier on Tuesday that the injury was "nothing a little cortisone and rest won't fix."
