Craig Biggio and Carl Yastrzemski are the only two Long Island-raised players in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
They also are two of the 16 players included in “Long Island Greats,” a new digital-only baseball card set issued by Topps.
The cards, available through Topps’ BUNT app, feature an image of the player in their MLB uniform along with their high school name along with a map of Long Island and the Robert Moses Bridge in the background.
Steven Matz (Ward Melville) of the Mets and Marcus Stroman (Patchogue-Medford) of the Blue Jays are among the active players included in “Long Island Greats.”
