10 ways to look at Alex Rodriguez's career home runs
Working for the weekend
Alex Rodriguez does his best work on the weekend. He's hit 126 of his home runs on Saturdays, more than any other day. He's also hit 117 on Sundays.
Walk it off
Rodriguez has a total of nine walk-off home runs in his Major League career, but his first didn't come until career homer No. 275 on July 27, 2002.
Happy Birthday!
Rodriguez's first career walk-off homer also was the fourth home run he's hit on his birthday, July 27. He has six total home runs on his birthday, including career homer No. 678 on his 40th birthday in 2015.
March Madness
With few March games on the regular season schedule each year, A-Rod has just one March home run in his career -- a solo shot on Opening Day 2003.
Taming Bartolo
Alex Rodriguez and Bartolo Colon spent a few years together as Yankees teammates, but when they've been opponents, Rodriguez has taken advantage. A-Rod's eight home runs against Colon are his most against any active pitcher, and tied for most against any single pitcher in his career.
Right at home
Rodriguez really enjoyed The House That Ruth Built. He hit more home runs at the old Yankee Stadium than anywhere else in his career with 124.
Meeting the Mets
Rodriguez has spent his entire career in the American League, but he took advantage of one interleague trip across town. He hit just two home runs at Shea Stadium, but both came in the same series in May 2007. He has yet to hit one at Citi Field.
Early and often
Rodriguez works best when there are no outs in an inning, but it's close. He's hit 232 home runs with no outs, 226 with one out and 229 with two outs.
Selling short
Despite moving to third base upon coming to the Yankees in 2004, A-Rod still has hit most of his home runs while playing shortstop (344).
Miami Vice
The city of Miami has always been close to Rodriguez's heart, but he's never been able to go deep while in town. He's never hit a homer against the Marlins, regardless of the ballpark.
