The Yankees couldn't beat the Mets on the field during the Subway Series and might have only one player starting in the July 16 All-Star Game at Citi Field.

Robinson Cano led American League second basemen in early voting announced Monday, but no other Yankee was close to leading at his position.

The Yankees have had at least two All-Star Game starters every year since 2006. They had three last season -- Cano, Derek Jeter and Curtis Granderson.

Jeter, who has not played a game this season and is not expected back until after the All-Star break, is fifth among AL shortstops with 380,445 votes.

Alex Rodriguez, also not expected to make his 2013 debut until after the break, was not listed on the ballot by the Yankees. Kevin Youkilis was.

Cano is the second-leading vote-getter in the AL with 1,235,230. Detroit's Miguel Cabrera has more than 1.5 million.

Stewart feeling better

Chris Stewart said he was OK after going through a second day of tests after experiencing lightheadedness and dehydration Saturday and Sunday.

"Everything's good today," he said. "Everything went well."

Still, Austin Romine started behind the plate Monday night.

One casualty of the decision to try Lyle Overbay in the outfield was Brennan Boesch, who was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for the second time this season. Boesch was batting .275 with three homers and eight RBIs. David Adams, who has impressed the Yankees during his brief major-league stint, started at third base over Youkilis against righthander Justin Masterson.
