Since the 2010 postseason, rumors about an alleged relationship between Delonte West and Gloria James, LeBron James' mother, have followed the former Cavs guard.
Last Friday, West, who now plays for the Dallas Mavericks, attempted to put those never-substantiated rumors to rest.
In an interview with the Dallas Morning News, part of an extended feature that highlighted West's battle with bipolar disorder, West was asked about the saga.
"It's affected me," West told the Dallas Morning News of the rumor. "Number one, something like that never happened. I don't know where they got that from.
"For a strong black woman like that, for people to try to tear her down, that's terrible," West added in the interview.
West has battled plenty of drama in his career, namely the above-mentioned battle with bipolar disorder, and a weapons charge in 2009.
He's played in 29 games for Dallas this year, starting 20, and is averaging 8.3 points per game.
