Bernard King who was traded to the New York Knicks from the Golden State Warriors, answers questions at a press conference in Oakland, Calif., Oct. 22, 1982 that he called. King said that he went to the Warriors office today ready to sign a contract and found out that the Warriors would not issue one to him. Later in the day he found out he had been traded to the Knicks. King said that he hated to leave the Warriors and also that the NBA club had deceived the media.
