Carmelo Anthony says he'll be patient and hope

Carmelo Anthony continues to look frustrated during and after games, but he said he's not losing hope that he can win a championship in New York.

"It's not getting hard," he said Monday. "Just right now, when you're going through this situation, it just kind of blurs everything, kind of clouds everything -- your thinking, your mentality. So for me, I just got to be patient and we'll see what happens and works out."

The Knicks are 15-26, but Anthony said he doesn't "want to believe" and "won't accept" that their record reflects the team they are. But they are further from being title contenders than they have been since he forced a trade here in February 2011.

Beno wants out

Beno Udrih has asked the Knicks to trade him, a league source confirmed. The backup point guard is expected to be out of the rotation now that Pablo Prigioni is back from a foot injury. Udrih was singled out by Mike Woodson after losses to the Wizards and Rockets and has voiced his displeasure about that. Udrih signed a one-year, $1.27-million contract last summer. ESPN New York first reported the request.

No Ray of light

Raymond Felton's critique of his play was harsh. "I'm playing like some crap," he said. "I just have to pick it up."

Felton, who shot 2-for-11 and scored nine points against the Nets, hasn't run the offense well this season and has been a defensive liability. "He's not playing the Raymond Felton basketball that we've seen," Woodson said. "He's had a couple, two bad, really, back-to-back games."

World view

Metta World Peace, who began platelet-rich plasma therapy on his left knee Jan. 6, has had the final round of injections. He hopes to practice Tuesday and return soon but said he won't rush.

"New York City -- they rush everything," he said. "People rush everything. People rush sex. Take your time. What's your rush? Where you going after? Tell me where you're going. Relax,take your time, enjoy love."

World Peace said he thought J.R. Smith's sneaker antics were "funny" and that "a computer" decided to fine him $50,000.

He said someone tried untying his sneakers once and made it a knot. "I actually took Trevor Ariza's shoe and threw it into the stands," World Peace said. "I actually pulled Paul Pierce's shorts down. Those things are fun."

He said he wasn't fined, either.
