J.R. Smith fined by NBA for Twitter war with Brandon Jennings

Knicks guard J.R. Smith was fined $25,000 for violating NBA rules about social media, the league announced Friday afternoon.
He was fined for "directing hostile and inappropriate language to another player via his Twitter account."
Smith and Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings got into a Twitter spat regarding Chris Smith.
Jennings tweeted, "Wait wait wait JR Smith brother in the NBA but @POOHJETER & @BBROWNLAU isn't. Call me hater but not Rollin!!!"
Jennings, who eventually removed that tweet, was referring to Pooh Jeter and Bobby Brown.
J.R. defended Chris and wrote he has "no respect" for "lil kids who pop at the mouth on twitter" and then "delete their tweets." Moments later, Smith tweeted, "Might call some of my Number street homies an put #Detroit on smash for a min! ?Serious."
Knicks coach Mike Woodson expressed his displeasure about Smith's Twitter war during his weekly interview on ESPN Radio on Friday.
"I was not happy about that and that's why we had a behind-the-door meeting with he and Chris because it's ridiculous," Woodson said. "There's got to come a time where you stop putting yourself in that position."
Smith was fined $25,000 by the NBA in 2012 for posting an inappropriate photo of a woman.
