Knicks injury updates

Iman Shumpert and Pablo Prigioni were spectators during practice today, nursing sprained elbows they suffered in last night's preseason game in Baltimore. But Mike Woodson said they’re expected to be all right.

Woodson said Shumpert (sprained right elbow), Prigioni (sprained left elbow) and Metta World Peace (sprained right ankle) should be able to play Monday when the Knicks are in Toronto for a preseason game.

Woodson also said he will bring Amar’e Stoudemire (knee surgery), J.R. Smith (knee surgery) and Kenyon Martin on this two-game trip.

Martin, who the Knicks say they’re holding out to preserve him, is the only one who may play on the trip. Woodson has said Martin would play in the last two games. Stoudemire and Smith haven’t been cleared for contact yet.

Shumpert had his right arm wrapped in ice. There was swelling, but he said he should be alright “in a couple of days.”

“It wasn’t that bad,” Shumpert said. “I had it wrapped up all last night. A little bit of fluid in there, but doc said she expected more fluid than it is. So I’m happy. I heal better than anybody else.”

Shumpert said he wouldn’t need an X-Ray or an MRI, but he was a little nervous at first.

“The thing that was scariest for me is they said it was something with CL,” Shumpert said. “Anything with CL kind of scares me because of my ACL. I don’t want to hear anything CL

“They said I got to sit a couple of days but I’ll be fine.”
