The Knicks added another name to the list of potential coaches with Minnesota Timberwolves assistant Micah Nori interviewing earlier this week.

Nori’s interview, which was confirmed by a league source, was the first assistant to be interviewed, joining former head coaches Mike Brown and Taylor Jenkins, both of whom were let go by their teams this season, as the Knicks search for a replacement for Tom Thibodeau.

The Knicks asked Dallas lead assistant Sean Sweeney to interview, but he opted instead to accept an offer from San Antonio to become the associate head coach to Mitch Johnson. Dallas head coach Jason Kidd remains on the radar — the Knicks have yet to get approval to speak with him. But with Sweeney out and two other assistants believed to be on the way out and no talks of an extension or raise by the Mavs, the door remains open that talks could be revisited.

Nori, a 27-year NBA veteran, spent 16 as a front-of-the-bench assistant coach with 10 different head coaches, starting with Jay Triano in Toronto, then Dwane Casey in Toronto before joining Mike Malone’s staff in Sacramento and Denver. He then joined Casey in Detroit before spending the last four seasons with Chris Finch in Minnesota.

His lone head coaching experience came when Finch suffered a broken leg in a sideline collision and Nori took over in Game 4 of the opening round of the playoffs. The Timberwolves won that game and Nori guided the team through the next round as they beat Denver while Finch had to sit behind the bench.

A league source indicated that among assistant coaches the Knicks have not spoken with Cavs associate head coach Johnnie Bryant, who held the same role for four years in New York.
