Imagine a practice facility in which the players each have their own private suite instead of a locker in a traditional room.

The Liberty players won’t have to imagine in 2027.

The team, which plays and trains at Barclays Center, announced Thursday morning that it plans to create a 75,000-square-foot state-of-the-art practice facility in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn.

The tab for building it by Newtown Creek with a view of the Manhattan skyline is $80 million. Ownership is fully funding the venture, the team said in a news release. The plan is to take over an old four-story lightbulb factory and add a two-story extension.

“The New York Liberty deserve a facility of their own: one that reflects their tremendous talent, work ethic, and ambition,” Clara Wu Tsai, their co-owner and governor, said in the team’s release about the project.

Three players from the defending WNBA champs — Sabrina Ionescu, Jonquel Jones and Breanna Stewart — worked with the design firm Populous to suggest what it should entail.

“This facility is a massive next step for the New York Liberty,” Ionescu said.

The Liberty are calling this the first practice facility “designed by players, for players.”

So those private suites, complete with a 7-foot daybed, will surround a player lounge. There will be two practice courts, an outdoor court for community clinics, a two-story indoor/outdoor strength training room, an extensive recovery suite, a hair, makeup and nail studio and two family lounges.

“As a mom,” Stewart said, “I’m especially grateful for the family rooms.”

There will also be a roof deck with a player dining area overlooking the skyline.

“One of the main things that drew me to the New York Liberty organization is the level of investment in us as athletes,” Jones said. “. . . This is what makes our organization great and why it will continue to be relevant as the years go on.”
