Cappie Pondexter of the Liberty was named an Eastern Conference starter for the WNBA All-Star Game, the league announced Thursday.

It's the fifth All-Star Game for Pondexter, an eighth-year pro out of Rutgers who spent her first four seasons with the Phoenix Mercury.

A three-time first-team All-WNBA selection, Pondexter won two championships with the Mercury and was named 2007 WNBA Finals MVP.

Through last Saturday, Pondexter is sixth in the WNBA in scoring (17.9).

Joining Pondexter as an Eastern Conference starter is Chicago's Elena Delle Donne, who became the first rookie to lead the voting. The other three starters are Chicago's Epiphanny Prince, Indiana's Tamika Catchings and Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry.

The Western Conference starters are Los Angeles' Candace Parker, Phoenix's Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi and Minnesota's Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus.
