The Liberty unveiled new team uniform colors Monday as part of the WNBA celebrating its 20th anniversary season.

The Liberty will wear all-light green primary uniforms and all-black secondary uniforms for home and away games during the upcoming season. The uniforms will replace the traditional all-white home uniforms and all-color road uniforms worn in the past.

Other WNBA teams also are wearing updated uniforms this season. However, the Los Angeles Sparks and San Antonio Stars will not wear updated uniforms this season since both teams already wear all-color uniforms for home and away games.

The WNBA also will honor the three teams from its first season — the Liberty, Phoenix Mercury and Sparks — with those teams wearing special 20th season patches on the front of their jerseys. The other WNBA teams will have a special 20th season logo on the backs of jerseys.

The Liberty opens its season at Washington against the Mystics on May 14 and will play its home opener at Madison Square Garden on May 15 at 5 p.m. against the Dallas Wings.
