Harris, bouncing back from dehydration, in MSG on Friday

Former Half Hollow Hills West star Tobias Harris has shaken early season health woes and made his way on to the court his rookie season for the Milwaukee Bucks.

Harris, who was a one-and-doner at Tennessee, was held out of action the first couple of weeks of the season with dehydration and muscle soreness. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Harris spent two nights in the hospital because of dehydration early in training camp. 

Harris was cleared for limited action on Jan. 7, and has played six games since.

While Harris' rebounding numbers (5.5 per 36 minutes) have been a little low out of the gate, he has been reliable on offense. In 15.2 minutes per game, he is averaging 7.2 points on 46.9 percent shooting. Milwaukee has thrived with Harris on the floor, too; he has a plus/minus of +18, and the Bucks offense is averaging 1.20 points per possession with him in the lineup, best on the team.

On Friday, Harris, who is one of four players to play high school ball on Long Island active in the NBA, will make his professional debut at Madison Square Garden when the Bucks take on the Knicks. Danny Green, currently on the San Antonio Spurs, has yet to play at the Garden. Here's a look at how the two other LIers fared in their MSG debuts:

A.J. Price, Amityville, Indiana Pacers

Made his debut on Jan. 3, 2010, for the Pacers. In a 132-89 loss to the Knicks, Price set career highs for minutes (21) and points (11), shooting 5-for-11 from the field. Price, who is still on the Pacers, is a free agent in the offseason.

Mike James, Amityville, Chicago Bulls

Made his debut in his second season with the Heat on Dec. 22, 2002. Like Price, James set a career high in his first game at MSG, scoring 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting. The Heat beat the Knicks, 92-84. James was recently signed by the Chicago Bulls -- the 11th team he has seen action for -- out of the NBA D-League.
