Zbikowski's suspension lifted
Baltimore Ravens safety Tom Zbikowski had his boxing suspension lifted after a follow-up drug test on Tuesday.
The Chickasaw Nation Gaming Commission suspended Zbikowski on Saturday after a failing a post-fight drug test. Zbikowski scored a first-round knockout of Blake Warner in a scheduled four-round bout on Saturday in Oklahoma.
TCH, an ingredient in marijuana, was allegedly found to be in the 26-year-old cruiserweight's system.
A follow up test on Tuesday at an independent lab in Chicago cleared Zbikowski (4-0). The suspension would’ve been for 45 days. Zbikowski’s next fight is scheduled for June 4.
"Tommy is very relieved," Mike Joyce, Zbikowski's manager and lawyer, told the National Football Post. "Tommy works too hard and puts his body through too much to risk his NFL and boxing career by putting anything illegal in his body. Tommy has never used illegal or banned substances. He's a clean-living guy."
