It's only fitting. For the 10th time in his career, Hofstra guard Charles Jenkins was named Colonial Athletic Association player of the week on Monday. He shares the award, which is his third this season, with Frank Hassell of Old Dominion.
Jenkins led the Pride to two wins last week, scoring 22 points in a 71-64 win at North Carolina-Wilmington and then coming home to score 21 in a 79-60 win over Delaware. Prior to that game, Hofstra's all-time leading scorer was honored with the retirement of his No. 22 jersey.
The Pride finished the regular season with a 20-10 record and was third in the CAA with a 14-4 mark. Hofstra meets the winner of the James Madison-William & Mary game at 8:30 Saturday night at Richmond Coliseum in the quarterfinals of the CAA tournament.
