Reggie Graff's 4 TDs spark Utah Tech to a 34-21 upset of FCS No. 9 Central Arkansas
SAINT GEORGE, Utah — Reggie Graff threw two touchdown passes, ran for a third and pulled in a touchdown catch as Utah Tech picked up its first win of the season, knocking off Central Arkansas, the No. 9 team in FCS, 34-21 on Saturday.
Ilya Uvaydov kicked a 30-yard field goal and Graff threw six yards to Eni Falayi to give the Trailblazers a 10-0 lead in the second quarter and never trailed to snap a 0-9 streak to start the season.
Darius Hale broke free for a 53-yard touchdown to get Central Arkansas (6-3, 3-2 United Athletic) within three, 10-7 with 5:13 left in first half, but Utah Tech scored on Bryce Parker's two-yard touchdown pass to Graff and Graff's two-yard touchdown pass to Shamar Garrett with :08 left in the first half to take a 24-7 lead.
Graff completed 26 of 35 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns and carried 24 times for 117 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter to lead Utah Tech (1-9, 1-5).
Will McElvain was 17 of 36 passing for 181 yards for the Bears but was picked off four times. Malachi Henry caught six passes for 85 yards and Hale had 149 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.
